Before we get too far, the first thing I have to say is THANK YOU!
Not only for taking the time to vote, but your contributions to The Admin Bar is what makes us the kind of group worthy of being number 1.
When Matt and I started this group in September of 2018, there was no real “plan”… But we had seen the kind of giant steps forward we had taken in our own businesses after connecting and providing each other with support, advice, shared experiences, and accountability. Our hope was that this kind of relationship could scale – and it’s been even more successful than we had hoped.
A little over 3 years and nearly 5,000 members later, it’s been amazing to see it come to life.
No matter if you’re a freelancer, agency owner, or basement-dwelling part-timer — the web industry can be lonely.
When I left my nine-to-five, I didn’t think there would be one thing I would miss about it — and for the most part, I was right.
But the power of community cannot be underestimated. As much as my co-workers drove me absolutely insane, not having someone to “talk shop” with left an immediate void.
Whether it’s looking for technical help, unloading your client frustrations, getting feedback, or just dropping by to share a taco meme — The Admin Bar community has filled that void for so many of us. A home-away-from-home where you know people will understand where you’re coming from.
Every day, seasoned vets, newcomers, and everyone in between congregate knowing they have something to contribute and something to learn, no matter who they’re talking to.
I didn’t need to see the group’s name next to an award to know this was the best community in WordPress — but I’m absolutely thrilled to celebrate the public recognition alongside you!
