The Admin Bar

After spending 15 years as a graphic designer and earning a business degree, I launched my agency, OGAL Web Design, in 2017. A year later, after finding the amazing community around WordPress, I co-found The Admin Bar, which has grown to become the #1 community for WordPress professionals. I'm a husband and proud father of three, and a resident of the Commonwealth of Virginia.

I’m really excited to share something special happening in our Barfly community — and to introduce someone many of you already know and love.

TAB has grown over the years, one thing I’ve always wanted is to make our Barfly membership (our private, deeper-dive community) feel even more connected, supported, and engaging. But as my schedule keeps… well, schedul-ing, it’s become clear that I can’t build the next stage of Barflies alone.

So — I’m thrilled to share that Abby Wood is stepping into a brand-new role as our Community Bartender for the Barfly community. ????

If you’ve been around TAB for any amount of time, you’ve probably seen Abby sharing her guest posts on our blog, supporting folks in the comments, appearing in webinars, helping others level up their messaging, and generally being a bright spot in the community.

She’s also a longtime TABLE member and one of the kindest, most encouraging people I know.

Her new role is focused specifically on supporting and nurturing the Barfly community, which includes:

  • sparking discussions
  • helping members connect
  • supporting community-led activities
  • helping organize our new monthly themes
  • and generally making Barflies feel even more like a tight-knit group

This isn’t a role for the broader TAB Facebook community (this group) — but since Abby is already such a familiar and loved face around here, I wanted to share the news and give her some well-deserved applause.

If you’re not yet a Barfly but curious what we’re building behind the scenes… There’s never been a better time to join. She’s lit a huge fire (and honestly, given me the capacity) to do a lot more with our Barfly group in 2026.

We’ll be hosting a call in January to welcome Abby, discuss some of the plans we’re already deep into planning, and get feedback on the direction, topics, and events you want to see.

Please help me give Abby a very warm welcome — we’re incredibly lucky to have her helping lead the next chapter of Barflies! ????????
