This week's introduction has been redacted and available for email subscribers only.
Can I see your backend?
An agency wanting to hire Guillermo wants to take a look at the backend of some of his websites to check the quality of his work. Is this normal? Would you agree to do it?
Client access before project completion
Chris' client got into the dev site and made some changes while he was still in the process of building. A great lesson in why it's important to keep client out until it's done!
Benefits AND features?
A book I'm reading made the case that substituting benefits for features in your copy isn't always the right move. Not everyone in the comments agrees.
Tracking licenses & subscriptions
Mark asked the group how people are tracking all of their ongoing expenses for plugins and software. Both some hi-tech and low-tech solutions are available.
Gary is looking for recommendations on responsive testing tools to see how websites look on different devices. Some great free and paid options in the comments.
A couple of people have asked me about any updates to TABLE — so I wanted to let you know where things stood...
This week we had our first official meeting for the pilot group — which went absolutely fantastic. Just a bit of a "get to know each other" meeting — but it seemed to be a great icebreaker as the activity in the private group started to take off soon after.
I'm trying to purposefully take things slow and systematize everything I can so that I can effectively open more TABLEs. I've already learned a few modifications that I need to make going forward.
Seeing how great this first group is progressing (in just the short time we've been together) I'm even more excited about the possibilities with this program.
My hope is to have the next TABLE opened by July, then one per month until I hit 5 concurrent.
Keep an eye out, I'll be announcing the next one soon!
